A Smart Travel Tip: Find a Vacation Rental on Airbnb, Then Search Google Before You Book!
Did you know that many vacation rentals listed on Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking.com can also be booked directly through the property owner's website?
Here's a simple travel tip that could save you money on your next vacation!
Step 1: Find a vacation rental you love.
Browse Airbnb, VRBO, or Booking.com as you normally would. Find a property that fits your needs, whether you're looking for a cozy getaway, a family-friendly rental, or a place to stay while exploring Moab.
Step 2: Look for the property name or management company.
Check the listing title, description, and host information for the name of the rental property or the company managing it.
Step 3: Search for that name on Google.
Type the property name or management company into Google, along with the destination. For example, search for "Angel Rock Rentals of Moab."
You may discover that the property has its own website where you can book directly!
Step 4: Compare the total price before booking.
Visit the property's official website, enter the same travel dates, and compare the total cost with the price shown on the booking platform.
Be sure to compare all applicable fees, taxes, and cancellation policies.
Step 5: Book directly and enjoy the savings!
Many independently owned vacation rentals offer their best rates through their own websites because they don't have to account for the same third-party booking commissions.
And here's the best part: You're booking the same property, often with the same owner or manager, just without the additional booking platform fees!
